Strategy Working Plan

I. Youth social participation program:

This program aims to improve the youth's skills in terms of democracy, participate in making decisions, reinforce the terms of dialogue and discussions, and respect people with their different opinions.

The target group is a cotenant of youth (males and females) and their ages range between 18-35 years old. This project will be implemented through the following projects:

1. Enhancing Democratic Values Project (EDV)

The overall objective of the project is summed up by: confronting the culture of violence and woman disrespect, and the promotion of a culture of participation and demonstrate the importance of the role of the individual in public life. And empowering women to exercise their role alongside men.

This can contribute to the goal of social progress in the long run by creating a tolerant society working to settle its differences through peaceful non-violent means, and believes in the culture of dialogue and gives the woman her right in participation seeking to positive change through active participation in the democratic process.

2. Hebron Governorate Youth Parliament project

The main ideas of the project is establishing youth groups (University students) of both genders in the marginalized areas- (the villages and camps in the marginalized areas in the city) - in Hebron Governorate and to train them on effective communication skills, leadership, conflict resolution, organizing voluntary campaigns, Organizing lobbying campaign, and forming unified leadership for the youth groups all over Hebron governorate through democratic elections (Hebron Governorate Parliament), so that youth could practice more efficient rile in the positive changing process within their local communities and on the level of Hebron Governorate through the experience and training  they gain.

3. The occupational rehabilitation House

The idea of the project is to afford training programs for (100) of pre-graduates university students of both genders in Hebron governorate. The training will be in acquiring them for several practical skills which enables them to integrate them in the business market. The training will include , trainings on writing their Curriculum Vitae , Work interviews , making virtual interviews, acquainting them with the Palestinian law of labors , skills of creative thinking , active communication , Public Relations , Daily office work , computer skills , English language courses , in addition to field visits to companies , and organizations and meeting their professionals , learning about their experiences , and conducting workshops with people from the private sector , Governmental sector and NGOs . Also, to find them practical training opportunities with these parties .

The project also aims to improve the graduates skills to qualify with the work field , and to empower them with the training and experience needed for being a qualified candidate in the work field .  Those students will also conduct an orientation program with the university undergraduate students.

II. Petty step program:

This program aims to develop children skills, build their personality, help them know their rights and practice them, and train their families in order to help them practice it.

The group target are female and males (10-16 years old), this program is implemented through the two following projects:

1. The Child’s Mobile Radio (CMR)

The project will concentrate on training 20 children (gender balanced) in the age category of (12-15) on a variety of new skills which are: Children Public Media, International Children Right's Convention, Music, Drama, Story telling, clowning, and presenting public media programs through (Broadcasting directly in front on other children who are the beneficiaries). For this purpose, a mini van – Supposing rented - will be prepared, accommodated, equipped as a mini radio station and mobile theatre, and it will implement regular weekly visits to marginalized areas and to poor neighborhoods to afford the children (TAKE & GIVE) program. This program (Take & Give) is based on the idea that the project children (the 20 children mentioned before) will present public media activities in front of other children in the areas and neighborhoods, will also present drama m, story telling, faces painting, and then training the neighborhood children on implementing these activities. Those newly trained children will then present & implement the activities to other children in their area (So they took and they are giving). This whole project will always be implemented with local societies in order to add the nature of entertainment to the activity.

The project will also work on activating the marginalized areas, and poor neighborhoods  children on playing more active roles in their communities through organizing voluntary activities, such as: Environmental days, cleaning day, support  for disabled children (Handicapped), implement the confrontation activities (Activities that are based on opening a debate among the children and decision makers , parents , school teachers and headmasters in their villages), also the program will work on making petition signing by the children which will be subjects oriented according to the children needs.

The Schools Students Council's project:

The project idea is to establish four schools student's councils in four different schools of the UNRWA ( 2 female schools , 2 male schools ) in Hebron governorate . The council's will be established through a democratic election process and the target group will be the school's students of the age range ( 13 Seventh grade – 15 Ninth grade ) and with in each council there will be four committees which are :

The cultural committee : which works on issuing a school wall newsletter of the student's own production and will organize cultural open days , and artistic and scientific  exhibitions .

The School's Radio Committee : which works on running the school's radio .

The voluntary work committee : Which works on implementing voluntary works at school and keeping the general environment of the school clean .

The Theatre committee : which works on composing a theatre band for the school and will be trained on drama in order to be used to express the student's opinions and thoughts and proposing their problems , needs and emotions .

Those four groups will work on summer time ( June – August ) on implementing field work which aims to document the surrounding area of the school and naming the surrounding streets and neighborhoods.

 

 

III. Peace and nonviolence program:

This program aims to spread the culture of peace and nonviolence in terms of social relationships between the members of the local society and reinforce the idea of discussions, dialogues, and respect the differences between people in order to reach social justice. The program also refers to the nonviolent philosophy as away of social resistance and freedom from oppression.

1. The Nonviolence Tools project (NTP)

The project will concentrate on preparing 4 groups of youth who will go under a training course about the philosophy of Nonviolence resistance, its tools, and the importance of it. Then the youth will carry out nonviolent, local campaigns, define Nonviolence  resistance and introduce it’s tools for the local society, organize exhibitions in Palestinian universities and in mass organizations to introduce the tools of Nonviolence  resistance, which will include: pictures, samples of Nonviolence  tools, display documentary movies that reflects the Palestinian experience and the international experience in Nonviolence  resistance, organize lectures related to the exhibition, and distribute brochures and labels. It's expected that 10000 beneficiaries will benefit directly from this variety of programs that they will be exposed to.

2. The Internal Cultural Exchange Project

The project idea is summarized in composing two groups , the first is a Muslim gender balanced  group from Hebron Youth and the second is a Christian gender balanced from Bethlehem youth . The two groups will held discussion sessions in the two cities under the supervision of specialists and professionals in this field of religious studies . The discussion will be about the costumes in the two religions , the habits , and accepting the other . The two groups will conduct later sessions for their pioneers through outreach activities in order to transfer their experience to other 500 direct beneficiaries .

IV. Administration Development Program.

This program aims to strengthen the internal capacity of CDST by ensuring the programs coordination and their timely planning, profiting from feedback, evaluation, setting up strategies, fundraising, building up influential groups, utilization of facilities and implementation and continuity of the programs through activities such as, facilitating meetings in-between  the staff , the volunteers and the Board of Directors.
